Submission to Journal of Geomechanics implies that all authors have seen and approved the full manuscript. All authors of accepted papers will be required to sign an Assignment of Copyright Transfer. To avoid unnecessary delays in the review process, please consider the following policies carefully before submitting your manuscript.

Submission

All manuscripts are submitted and reviewed via the Author Center. New authors should create an account prior to submitting a manuscript for consideration. Any questions referring to submission should be emailed to the editorial office at dzlx@vip.163.com (only for consultation)

Manuscript Preparation

Please modify the manuscript according to Paper Format of the journal for publication. Note that papers that do not meet the requirements will be rejected.

Revised Manuscripts

Manuscripts returned to the author for revision should be returned to us as quickly as possible. The decision email will include the due date for submission of the revised manuscript. Any revisions received after that date may be assigned a new received date. After revising the paper and writing a detailed reply to the reviewers with a list of changes made to the paper, the corresponding author will log on to the Author Center to submit a revised manuscript and response. The editor will then make a final decision or send the manuscript back to reviewers.

Double-blind Peer Review

This journal uses double-blind peer review, which means that both the reviewer and author identities are concealed from each other throughout the review process. Therefore, authors need to ensure that their manuscripts are prepared in a way that does not give away their identity. Authors can recommend two referees, but the final choice will be decided by the Editorial Office.

Authorship

Every author listed on a journal article should have made a significant contribution to the work reported. This could be in terms of research conception or design, or acquisition of data, or the analysis and interpretation of data. As an author or co-author, you share responsibility and accountability for the content of your article.

Plagiarism

When citing others’ (or your own) previous work, please ensure you have:

● Clearly marked quoted verbatim text from another source with quotation marks.

Attributed and referenced the source of the quotation clearly within the text and in the Reference section.

Obtained permission from the original publisher and rightsholder when using previously published figures or tables.

Data Fabrication / Falsification

It is essential that all data is accurate, and representative of your research. Data sharing is more and more prevalent, increasing the transparency of raw data. We may request that you upload raw data as a supplemental file for publication.

Competing Interests

It is very important to be honest about any competing interests, whether sources of research funding, direct or indirect financial support, supply of equipment or materials, or other support.

Publication Fees

Authors of accepted articles will be asked to support publication through author fees.. Fees based on length or publication units (PU) encourage manuscripts that are thorough but concisely presented. The formula for publication units (PU) = number of words/1000 + number of figures + number of tables, etc. Word count includes title, author list and affiliations, abstract, text (and in-text citations), figure captions, references, and supporting information.
