Abstract (155) PDF (510KB)(17)
Abstract:
According to the theory that plastic flow of the lower layer (including lower crust and upper mantle lithosphere) controls upper layer (upper crust) deformation in the multi-layer lithosphere, the paper studies the physical experiments of strike-slip fault and pull-apart basin adopted ductile/brittle double-layers model. The experiment results show that strike-slip model developed sinistral right-step fault zone which consisted of a lot of "S"-type faults during sinistral strike-slip stage. The early fault zone was reconstructed and became dextral right-step "Z"-type fault during dextral strike-slip stage. There are three-type extensions in the strike-slip fault zone:(1) a lot of diamond basins formed with stretching of "S"-type fault; (2) the "graben-horst" structure appeared when the ends of adjacent "S"-faults were sheared and connecting; (3) the pull-apart basins formed along right steps of dextral faults during the second strike-slip stage. The stretching faults formed in the stage of uplifting limit the location and the direction of strike-slip faults.Strength of brittle-layer restricts the forming and the development of strike-slip faults, and the texture of brittle-layer influences coupling of brittle-plastic layers and characters of strike-alip faults.

Abstract:
Hexi corridor, tectonically located in the northeastern margin of the Qinghai-Xizang plateau,is a typical compressive fault basin.Around it,there developed Altun active fault, northern Qilianshan boundary active fault,Changma active fault and southern Longshoushan boundary active fault. There are sudden changes of geophysical field, crustal thickness and lithosphere structure in the area. The giant thrusting displacements along the northern Qilianshan boundary active fault and southern Longshoushan boundary active fault result in the huge Mesozoic-Cenozoic sediment, more than 3500~4000m in some place,in which, the thickness of Quaternary sediment is more than 1000m.Hexi corridor is also a belt of stronger deformation and seismic activity. There happen many destructive earthquakes and a lot of mid-small earthquakes in history and now-days. Specially, the eastern Altun fault, the Jiayuguan fault and the Yumushan fault, which cross the west to east gas transportation pipeline, the Lanzhou-Xinjiang railway and 312 high-way in different angle, are the present active fault. The deformation of these active faults, including long-term creep and instantaneous sliding (eg.earthquake),influences the safety of main line of communication and gas transportation pipeline.

Abstract (221) PDF (329KB)(9)
Abstract:
This paper outlines hydrogeologic condition and hydro-geochemical feature in the Southern part of North-South Earthquake Belt in China and maps abnormal map of microelements of B,F,Li and Sr. At the same time, the relationship between hydro-geochemical feature and earthquake is analyzed. The research results indicates:(1) Earthquake, geothermal heat and microelement abnormal areas are controlled by tectonic.Their distributions in space are obviously same.(2) High-middle temperature water areas, especially the areas of high-middle heat spring, are always the strong regions of earthquake activity. But the strong earthquake area does not always occur in high-middle heat spring.(3) During the process of earthquake formation water temperature, flow quantity and hydro-geochemical component in geothermal wells and hot springs may be changed. The change of hydro-chemical components, especially microelement in hot springs may be one of information to forecast earthquake.

Abstract (137) PDF (180KB)(7)
Abstract:
The parameters of mercuric gas in water at the Qicun area in Shanxi Province are mainly controlled by the regional hydrochemical characteristics of Qiding basin;they have sensitive precursory effect to earthquakes especially to that with larger than 4.0 magnitude in Shanxi Province. The abnormal effects of mercuric gas in water are short and temporary; But,it can provide useful information of predicting the time of earthquake, which is one of the three elements of earthquake(time, location, and scale). The abnormal effects of mercuric gas in water are also concerned with the activity level of earthquake as well as depth of earthquake and so on.

2003, 9(1): 48-55.
Abstract (116) PDF (275KB)(7)
Abstract:
Faults are well developed in Liuzan region in Jidong (eastern Hebei) oil field, and there are more than thirty faults in 40km2.But there are several key issues that need to be solved, such as when these faults wre formed, what function these faults acted on oil and gas accumulation and pool formation, and does hydrocarbon accumulation results in faulting or vice rersa? These are critical problems in pool formation study,as well as in resources assessment in this region and identification of favorable exploration targets. The author's study shows there is a sequence for fault formation.Fault formation and distribution are controlled by boundary fault of Baigezhuang,Shuohe and Gaoliu.Fault played different roles in pool formations in different times.

Abstract:
The petroleum in the Subei basin is famous for poor, small, beraking to pieces, and scattering in the exploration history of Chinese petroleum, and it is a typical case of the most complex and small fault-lock in the East of China. But the fault-block of Tianchang halfgraben-like depression is more breaking and scattering.Formation of complex fault system depends on its special tectogenesis background, and oil-gas migration and oil reservoir formation are closely impartibility with it.Analysis of fault system is a basis for futher realizing oil exploration and development.Fault system research mast not only master part, but also master all. This paper emphasizes method study of fault system, which is also to provide a reference for petroleum exploration in similar tectonic background.

Abstract (147) PDF (275KB)(20)
Abstract:
Study of petrology of quartz monzonites from Dashui area suggests that the Zhonggezhala,Zhongqu and Ge'erkuohe bodies are derived from a comagmatic region.Although their crystallization temperature of about 700℃~800℃ is exactly alike, the emplacement depth among them is very different, from 20km~22km of Zhonggezhala through 16km of Zhongqu to 8km~11km of Ge'erkuohe towards the east. Moreover, the later two bodies show a signature of subvolcanic rock. This implies that hypabyssal magma is beneficial to the gold mineralization in the Dashui area. This is why the large-scale gold deposit was defined in the vicinity of Ge'erkuohe and Zhongqu bodies, but only ore spot was found nearby Zhonggezhala body.

Abstract (108) PDF (295KB)(12)
Abstract:
The Jiaojia fault zone is characterized by ductile deformation in the early stage and brittle fracturing in late stage. The early ductile deformation have typical mylonite associations, symmetry fabrics.Finite strain measurements and estimate of differential stress value show:from Jiaojia major fault to Wangershan secondary fault, major axis ratio of deformation key-body dropped a little、K-value increased a little, the direction of differential stress is NWW-SEE trending. It is sinistral ductile deformation zone dominated by flatting at medium temperature of 300℃~500℃ and middle confining pressure of 0.27~0.49GPa in the early.

2003, 9(1): 91-96.
Abstract (277) PDF (241KB)(10)
Abstract:
The Ganzi Loess origin in the West Sichuan Plateau has been discussed based on synthetic study in grain composition of the loess, surface texture of quartz sand,as well as other geological phenomena. On the cumulative curve of grain size distribution in Ganzi Loess of logarithmically probability graph paper, saltation mass and suspension are obvious, and the later is principal. In the suspension, the grain size is not more than 2~3φ in diameter, and the silt grains (4~8φ) are principal. The grain size parameters of Ganzi Loess were counted by the matrix method. Its mean grain size is 5.057~5.883φ, and bigger than one of fossil soil in the loess. The 1.513~1.973 of standard deviation (σφ) of fossil soil is bigger than the loess (1.205~1.778). The skewnesses (Sk) of the loess and fossil soil are -0.088~0.248.The kurtosis (Kφ) of the loess is 1.242~1.702,and the one of the fossil soil is 0.023~0.059.The quartz sand surface textures of Ganzi Loess have been observed with Scanning Electron Microscope. Most of quartz sands are blocky, and a few of grains are fusiform. On the surfaces of the quartz sands, there are a number of aeolian features, such as concentrated upturned plates meandering ridges, pocks, and others. These ones are characteristics of aeolian origin. On the other hand,a few of the quartz sands are characterized by glacial surface textures, such as all sizes conchoidal fractures, and parallel striations. In the West Ganzi, and the South Dege,by the East bank of Jinsha River, three ice wedges are discovered in the loess strata on the top of third order terrace.Furthermore, the sporo pollens are scarce in the loess strata. As above,it appears that Ganzi Loess is aeolian sediment in the periglacial environment.
